It was a rocky day at work, and after yesterday's rest day, I was very much looking forward to getting home and getting outside for my run. I decided that today would be a good day to do the longer route, with a little bit of the "rubberbanding" that my uncle showed me thrown in to help change up the pace.
Stats:
Distance: 3.25 miles
Duration: 36 minutes
Pace: 11:04
Splits: 11:24, 10:46, 11:07
Elevation gain; 118 feet
Overall summary: I'm doing a really good job of keeping a steady pace. Almost too good of a job, considering that despite variations in whether I was going uphill, on a fairly flat surface, or downhill, I maintained about the same speed.
My second mile felt the best, which may have been impacted by the fact that I got to stop at a stoplight waiting to cross for a couple minutes in the middle of the mile. (I paused the workout while I stood waiting, since I didn't want to throw off my pacing.)
I may do some stationary bike work, or perhaps a little weight training tomorrow, just to make sure I don't overdo it. I did already do two runs this week!
